Collection: LARAS — A sense of beauty and aesthetic harmony

Laras — the Indonesian word for "harmony" — captures the spirit of a chessboard, where balance in shape and tone reflects the wisdom behind the founding of Surabaya, one of Indonesia’s largest cities.

Greed and ego disrupt harmony, dimming the light of peace.

Surabaya’s legendary folklore tells of two warriors — one with the strength of a shark (Sura), the other with the might of a crocodile (Baya). Locked in an endless battle, they eventually agreed to divide their territory: Sura ruling the waters and Baya governing the land. Yet their struggle for dominance never ceased, continuing until their demise.

The chess pieces in Laras symbolize this tale, contrasting in form yet perfectly balanced. Sura takes the shape of a circle, representing cunning, while Baya is depicted as a square, embodying obedience.

Two stainless steel lines on the box cover create a mesmerizing sense of continuity, following one another in an endless flow.

Designed as a statement piece for your home, Laras can be placed on a corner table or displayed as wall art. It is a true embodiment of beauty and aesthetic harmony — an exquisite gift for yourself and your family.
