Rémén Celebrates Indonesia's Cultural Heritage Through the Launch of "ROH" and "Laras"

By Arfiah Ramadhanti - Monday

Obsessionnews.com - Rémén is a brand born from a dedication to preserving and celebrating Indonesian culture through design. It proudly announces the launch of its latest collections, "ROH" and "Laras," on Saturday (February 22, 2025) in Jakarta. Rémén's debut collection blends traditional Indonesian design with contemporary aesthetics, making it not only functional but also artistically valuable with deep meaning.

Rémén's founder, Sylviana Putri, an LPDP scholarship alumni, shared that the primary goal of this collection is to introduce and bring the beauty of Indonesian culture to the global stage.

"Rémén is committed to preserving and introducing the beauty of Indonesia's local values to the world. Our goal is not only to bring these designs to the public but also to take them to the global market so they can be enjoyed by international audiences. We hope this collection can serve as a bridge for the world to recognize and appreciate Indonesia's rich cultural heritage," explained Sylvi.

The launch of this collection marks an important milestone in Rémén's journey to further strengthen the position of Indonesian culture on the international stage. It carries a spirit of pride in Indonesia's heritage, showcasing designs that honor tradition while remaining relevant to modern trends.

The "ROH" table lamp product tells the story of the dualism in the Chinese community's belief about the meaning of coins. For the living, coins are often seen as a symbol of bad luck, but for the spirits of the deceased, coins are an important element for their journey to eternity.

Meanwhile, the "Laras" product tells the legend or origin of Surabaya. The harmony between Sura, the shark representing the ruler of the sea, and Baya, the crocodile, is expressed by Sylvi through a chess-like display piece.

Through these culturally rich products, Rémén contributes to promoting Indonesian tourism, encouraging more people to explore and understand the country’s deep cultural roots.

In addition to the launch of the Rémén brand, the event was supported by several other proud Indonesian local brands, such as Cultivia, Havilla Tea, Rumah Atsiri, In The Bag Coffee, Sumayeliving, Rosyposy Living, Ardefabrics, Jahit.menjahit.id, Pyo Jewelry, Dassein Design Bureau, and Nareswari.
